In the land of Triste La Celt
Where the mountain people dwelt
Long before there ever were whispers of God
A vestige yet remained
Of a race once hailed and famed
From the shores of Albion to the Land of Nod

Their upbringing was precise
‘Never lie, cheat or entice’
Was the motto of that upright band of men
‘Always share out what you can
With your friend and fellow man
And be willing to help out, no matter when’

It will come as no surprise
To learn that this vestige dies
Not long after God comes hurtling to the earth
There’s a lesson there somewhere
Antiquated myth stripped bare
Though it’s doubtful if mankind knows what it’s worth

10. Whispers Of God
(Heikkilä - McGowan) I'm happy because this was a poem I found very hard to make a melody. Then it just suddenly came into me. Maybe because of the deadline? -- Jore

And a fine melody it is. Nice mandolin picking and Jore's voice suits this sad poem very well. -- Davy
